Secret Caribbean Escape – The Bay Islands Re-Open October 1st!

Support Utila has donated more heart, blood pressure and diabetic medications to Lance Bodden Health Center, also known as the Centro de Salud. With help from Municipalidad de Utila's deputy mayor Alice Hill, we were able to quickly transport the much needed medicine donation to Utila quickly from Farmacia Mary Ann.

What started as a small fundraiser called #SupportUtila by the owner's of Coral View Beach Resort Utila, to help provide food for those financially impacted by the pandemic, has evolved into Support Utila inc, a 501(c)3 organization, committed to continuing our original goals of helping provide food, vitamins and medicine, plus more. What that "more" is will grow over time. Until the pandemic is globally under control and is no longer a threat, we remain focused on preventive medical needs, and being prepared for a possible outbreak. Our other immediate programs include helping secure needed resources for Jasper's Utila Animal Shelter, to keep your pets safe, to reduce stray animals, and to provide a better life for people and pet's alike.As our funding grows, and grants are secured, we continue working with the Municipalidad de Utila, schools, and other organizations to help provide what is needed to continue keeping Utila beautiful, to improve the lives of its residents, to keep its ocean and lands clean, and play a critical role in providing opportunity for all.We are a solutions focused non-profit organization. Tonia Woods dropped off more donated medication to the Centro de Salud Utila - Community Health Center, thanks to your donations. Whether sharing on social media or donating, all help in our mission of increasing the medical resources immediately available on Utila.

Medicine donated to Centro de Salud Utila

Utila is a very small island, with limited health systems available, the Governor of the Bay Island had temporarily closed all ports and points of access into the Island. This help protect the health of the residents from the spread of COVID-19 but has caused severe economical impact to the island which is very much dependent on tourism. It also impacted the ability to bring food and other items into the ports. This is where #SupportUtila comes in!
